AS Awa FC have been FAP Amazone to be crowned champions of the 2022 Cameroon Women Professional Football League dubbed Guinness Super League. Awa FC beat Amazon FAP FC 3-2 to closed the 2021/2022 season.
Even though AS Awa FC was going to the game as favourite, Amazone FAP also had a lot chances to carry the day. However, it was Farida Maicha of AS Awa FC that opened scores in the first 20 minutes of the game following a misunderstanding at the defense area of FAP.
Minutes after, Confidence Bongben of FAP equalized but their celebration was cut short and Raissa Ebenye struck for her club AS Awa FC to increase the tally before the end of the first half.
From the locker room, FAP looked very optimistic to turned the table but their control in front of the goal post were not successful. Things turned soar for FAP when they scored sheet moved up to three against one.
Nevertheless, the green light showed up for FAP as they reduced the score line by 2-3 same score which remained unchanged at the end of regular time. Awa FC was champions in the 2020/2022 season as champions.
During the encounter for surprising the goalkeeper, Marthe Ogmahan with a beautiful goal, Rita Wanki was crowned “Women of Guinnessico of the Day 22.
Meanwhile, Fecafoot president, Samuel Eto’o Fils flanked by the league sponsors, Guinness and the Women’s league gave the kick-off of the hotly contested encounter.
On the occasion, the President of the Women’s Football League, Celine Eko stressed that Guinness has promised to double the investment in the championship.
