Coach Laundry Bissou and boys have picked a ticket for the African Rugby Seven Championship slated for Uganda from April 22 to 24.
Meanwhile, the women failed to earn a qualification spot for Kampala 2022, after ending on the second place. However, both selections have qualified for the second rounds of the Rugby Seven World Cup to hold in South Africa.
The team arrived Yaounde this Tuesday afternoon via the Nsimalen International Airport, after a satisfactory performance in the Burundi Rugby Africa Regional 7 tournament, that was held from March 12 to 13.
Coach Laundry Bissou and boys in their opening game recorded a 19 -19 score against DR Congo. And in the second game succeeded in trashing host Burundi by 19 to 5.
The Cameroonian Women’s Rugby Seven team were successful against DR Congo by 19 to 12. Beating host Burundi by 5-0 and defeated by Zambia in a 5 to 41 score.
At the end of the two days Bujumbura Rugby Seven tournament, the following nations succeeded in qualifying for the upcoming Kampala Rugby Championship; Cameroon, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Uganda, Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mauritius lsland.
