PWD’s forward, 19-year-old Che Hubert Mbunwe has earned a two million CFAF cheque for his Man of the Match title, after Sunday 13 Cameroon Cup finals that saw his side uplifting the trophy for the first time at the Ahmadou Ahidjo.
The check handing over ceremony was presided by the FA President Samuel Eto’o and some MTN officials on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Mbouda stadium.
It was also the launch of the 2022/2023 league season during PWD was defeated by Bamboutos of Mbouda one goal to nil in the opening game.
Mbunwe’s thunderous free-kick in the fifteenth minute of the game, saw Astres keeper Mbaynessem wanting with the ball at the back of his net.
In a second season with PWD, the former Santos FC vibrant forward has greatly gained maturing in his play style. A performance that has now made him an indispensable element in Coach Pagou’s tactical line-up.
Last season, Hubert played seventeen games, making three assist in all competitions for PWD. He has equally scored a good number of goals with the reserve team of the Abakwa Boys.
