Compared to the men’s championship the women’s championship lacks sponsorship.
For the past three seasons, the mark Guinness has been contributing its quota to make Women’s football shine by sponsoring the championship. But, this is not enough.
It is against this background that a campaign has been launched.
In a press release on to launch the campaign, “Let’s make Women’s Football Shine Brightest’, Guinness intends to move lines on gender equality by promoting the reduction of inequalities against women.
According to the sponsor, in just two years the results are visible.
- More than 11 million people are interested in women’s football, with more than 10 million getting information every month
- For the first time, parents have shown real support for their daughters through the ‘Her Home Advantage’ campaign
- The players have moved from unplayable pitches to international standard stadiums like their male counterparts with nearly a thousand spectators during each Guinnessico. And this is just the beginning.
- In addition, the Guinness Superleague receives approximately 375 minutes of media exposure per week on our local radio and television stations. Helping to bridge the media gap between men’s and women’s women’s football.
“Proud of these results and with the ambition of making women shine brightest, the Guinness brand has decided to accompany the Cameroon Football Federation and the Cameroon Women’s Football League in the search for additional sponsors. To do so, it will bring together other local companies by inviting them to seize the opportunities offered by the Guinness Super League”, the release reads.
The launching ceremony of the “CALL FOR CO-SPONSORS” campaign will take place this Friday, March 31 in a hotel in Douala.
This campaign to find additional sponsors will feature Guinness Super League players and major actors in women’s football through a TV spot. It will also invite football fans to propose the next sponsors of the Guinness Super League via the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Gsuperleague or https://www.facebook.com/Guinness.Cm
