The Indomitable Lions are still in Douala-Cameroon 24 hours to their return leg match against Mozambique in Tanger- Morocco counting for day four of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers, Qatar 2022.
Cameroon in the first leg humbled Mozambique 3-1 and are second in Group D with six points.
The Lions in their initial plan were to leave for Tanger yesterday at 2: 00pm, they had a call that the flight was delayed till evening 9:00pm.
Then, another flight was again rescheduled for this Sunday October 10 and the Lions are set to leave by 6: 00pm.
“The company in charge of our flight called us an hour before our departure for the airport to tell us that there would be delay. A health problem linked to covid-19 for the crew and that the flight had to be postponed”, the Coordinator of the team, Bill Tchato said.
The company in question is CamairCo which for some years has been suffering for mismanagement, few planes relying on hire.
The team however trained yesterday and today and may just arrive Morocco just in time for the game.
Reports say Lions rejected a second flight, which apparently was not comfortable.
There are suggestions of a conflict between the federation and the sports ministry on the management of the team.
The Return leg Mozambique 🇲🇿-Cameroon is set for 2:00pm October 11 in Tanger- Morocco 🇲🇦.
