Speaking over Canal+ Tv live from Yaounde and answering questions related to Japoma Stadium, COVID-19 tests in the Comoros team and cheating; Eto’o said, without exception, players of the Indomitable Lions are tested daily to ensure that they are up to date.

According to Eto’o, the Confederation of African Football, CAF is the organizer of the competition and the only guarantor of compliance with the rules of the competition and it is up to them to clarify the misunderstandings that persist.

“The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT has taken special measures to ensure that the players of the Cameroon National Team are protected from COVID-19 contamination. Among other things, he stressed that, “It is important to remind the public opinion that the COVID -19 tests of the teams taking part during this AFCON are carried out by an independent firm chosen by CAF. The organizing country is not involved in the results of these tests and is not concerned by the contaminations detected and counted within the participating teams.

He also reiterated that, “Cameroon is a great soccer country with five AFCON trophies and seven participations in the World Cup, six Cameroonian golden balls, not to mention the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000. All this was won in all transparency, without cheating. Cheating does not exist in the DNA of Cameroonian soccer…

Concerning the Japoma Stadium, Eto’o said, “the stadium is a very beautiful arena that meets international standards…Every African should be proud of this beautiful building which is next to the most beautiful stadiums in the world.”
