“Access to trustworthy health information is essential to women’s dignity,” says Comfort Mussa, DearYou Cameroon Ambassador, as she steps into the role of fostering informed dialogue about women’s health in collaboration with DearYou.
DearYou, a global initiative dedicated to improving women’s access to clear, culturally adaptable health information, announced a collaboration with the local ambassador, Comfort Mussa, a journalist and women’s rights advocate, in a press release on February 25.
According to DearYou’s news release, the partnership is a significant milestone in the company’s growing presence in Central Africa, where reliable local voices are essential to promoting educational discourse regarding women’s health. Cameroon’s robust media networks and bilingual environment provide significant opportunities to disseminate easily accessible health information via culturally relevant communication channels.
“DearYou’s approach aligns closely with the realities women face in Cameroon, where dialogue, trust, and cultural sensitivity are fundamental,” Comfort Mussa says.
“DearYou is built on listening and working through trusted local voices. Our collaboration with Comfort Mussa reflects our commitment to supporting women with respectful, accessible information while recognizing and strengthening existing community leadership,” a representative from The DEAR Foundation Switzerland stated.
Comfort Mussa, through her ambassador-led engagement, will promote access to information on women’s health through media engagement on radio, television, print, and online platforms, and participate in Women’s Month events and women-focused conferences. She will embark on community conversations facilitated through existing local and regional networks, disseminate informational resources, and promote the DearYou mobile app. The activities are intended to supplement the work of organizations and individuals already involved in women’s health, education, and empowerment, and they build upon already-existing local efforts.
DearYou encourages awareness, early detection, and educational conversation about women’s health with its free mobile app and global network of volunteer ambassadors.
