Antonio Conceicao Leads Indomitable Lions To 2-0 Inuagural Win At Olembe
Cameroon coach, Antonio Conceicoa has led the Indomitable Lions to their inaugural win at the newly constructed 60,000-seater Olembe Stadium without spectators.
The win urshers good tidings for Conceicao who recently penned a two-year contract to qualify the Lions for the 2022 World Cup.
Aboubakar Vincent in the first half stamped his name in the annals of history, scoring the first-ever goal at this stadium that will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2021 African Nations Cup.
Cameroon increased its tally in the 23rd minute with a header signed, Michael Ngadeu, who was one the best scorers and lifted the 2017 trophy with Cameroon in Gabon.
The second half was however lack luster for the two sides. The Flames already quenched by the Lions searched in vain to slot in a goal.
While Cameroon failed to increase tally with the entry of Christian Bassogog and Zambia Anguissa got a booking for Cameroon’s first yellow card at the Olembe Stadium.
Cameroon is heading to play Ivory Coast on September 06, with an advantage as the Elephants drew with Mozambique 0-0.
