Logidoo, a pan-African logistics platform, has introduced two new digital tools to streamline international shipping for African businesses and individuals. The features—a volumetric weight simulator and a customs duties simulator—aim to reduce common barriers in cross-border trade.

“These tools address the uncertainty and complexity that often deter African businesses from global trade,” said Logidoo CEO Tamsir Ousmane Traore. “Users can now get accurate shipping estimates in seconds—no specialized knowledge or lengthy consultations needed.”

Powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), the tools are particularly useful for e-commerce sellers, importers and small businesses that require fast, reliable quotes. They eliminate delays and guesswork typically associated with traditional shipping methods.

The volumetric weight simulator calculates a package’s dimensional weight using just a photo, ensuring precise shipping quotes. Meanwhile, the customs duties simulator estimates import fees based on a product description or Harmonized System (HS) code, factoring in volume and insurance requirements.

“Small businesses have long lacked access to dependable shipping estimates,” Traore added. “Our simulators provide real-time cost transparency—previously available only to large corporations—now accessible to anyone with a smartphone.”

The tools are now live at logidoo.co and available to users in West, Central and North Africa, including Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Tunisia, Benin and Cameroon.

This rollout aligns with Logidoo’s broader mission to enhance global trade through digital innovation. The company also offers groupage shipping services, enabling businesses to share container space and reduce costs.

“We’re removing trade barriers with practical, user-friendly tools,” Traore said. “When small businesses know shipping costs upfront, they’re better positioned to expand and enter new markets.”

Industry analysts say these innovations could significantly advance Africa’s logistics infrastructure through smart, accessible technology.
