Nsobati Carriere branch has raised over FCFA 1.5 million in a significant fundraising event aimed at securing the necessary funds to purchase a plot of land for the construction of the Nso Community Hall (Ngainso-Carriere).

The event that took place on Saturday, June 28th in Yaoundé was attended by notable personalities, including Shey Tadze Adamu, President of the Nso Cultural and Development Association (NSODA).
Following the fundraising efforts, Shey Betrand Lukong, President of the Nsobati Carriere branch, expressed his gratitude to all sons and daughters of Nso (“Wirfon”), both near and far, who participated, particularly the Bongsiysi Women Carierre, Duiy and The Young Shall Grow members for their impressive turnout.
“Your participation and contributions will go a long way in building Ngai Nso Carriere, starting with the purchase of a plot,” Shey Lukong stated.
Shey Lukong stressed that contributing to this initiative like Nformi Kibari Kongnso Vitalis, will not only help Nsobahti Carriere achieve its goal of acquiring the land but will also play a crucial role in unifying and solidifying the oneness of the Nso people in the neighborhood and beyond.

He further urged all “Wirfons” to continue supporting the project as it progresses.
The event also saw the crowning of Lukong Mary Baninla, also known as Yaa Wibaa, as Miss Nsobati Carriere 2025. The occasion was further brightened by the performances of several guest artists. In the likes of Dr Jay, Princess Geechi, Melody Master, Reclaire, Shey Carpenter and the King of Youths Jude Beringafo who added to the celebratory atmosphere.

In addition, prominent figures among others, Prof. Verkijika Fanso, Senator Emma Lafon, Shofola Emmanuel, Nformi Nkum Buffalo, and Mohammed Yefenyuy Lukong were honored for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to the progress and well-being of the Nso community in the Nsobati Carriere Quarter.
The construction of Ngainso Carriere is envisioned as a central hub for the Nso community, offering a venue for meetings, celebrations, and the preservation of the Nso Fondom’s rich cultural heritage.
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering community spirit and cultural pride among the Nso people in Carriere and beyond.
