2021 AFCON Trophy On Parade In Ouagadougou Burkina Faso

55 days to the official debut of the 33rd edition of the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations slated to run on Cameroonian soil from January 9th to February 6th, 2022, and the trophy is on the move.

The AFCON trophy arrived in the Burkinabe nation’s political capital Ouagadougou yesterday November 14th, and is expected to have a 48-hour stay in Thomas Sankara’s homeland.

Leaving Algiers, the Afcon trophy had a short stay in some African nations like Ethiopia and Malawi.

Arriving in Ghana, the trophy will make a stop at the offices of some top personalities, before parading some popular places for public viewing in Accra between November 16 and 17.

The African Cup of Nations is the most important and the third greatest football mass after the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro Championship.

The TotalEnergies Afcon is a tournament that will be hosted for the first time with 24 best African selections up from 16, divided into 6 pools of 4 teams. 52 games would be played in the host country, Cameroon.
