CAF Raises AFCON Squad To 28
The Confederation of African Football, CAF has announced a raise in the team squad barely 77 days to the official kick-off of the Total Energies African Cup of Nations, slated to run from January 9 to February 6 on Cameroonian soil.
CAF in a release has informed all her FA members about a 28-man-squad increase from 23 before the Cameroon soccer fiesta.
The additional five men have as their objective to replace players who test positive for COVID-19.
This latest piece of information from CAF comes along with a good number of conditions to be fulfilled by the different nations to part-take in the competition.
These include the payment of traveling and accommodation expenses by the FAs.
CAF will apply her law of three substitutions per match, plus an additional player in case of extra time during the AFCON.
However, the new order will be a window opener for more players to showcase their huge soccer know-how.
